Oshki-ojibwemowag Adult Immersion Program Fall 2026 Application

Program Details
The Oshki-ojibwemowag Adult Immersion Ojibwe Language Program is dedicated to creating new highly proficient Ojibwe language speakers. Through Ojibwe language, values, behaviors, and beliefs, Oshki-ojibwemowag supports intergenerational language growth by creating language speakers and teachers. Oshki-ojibwemowag participants engage in an intensive language-immersion environment for 2 years as full-time language learners. This program is designed for beginning, novice-level language learners.
PLEASE NOTE: The Oshki-ojibwemowag Adult Immersion Program is delivered in person at the Lac Courte Oreilles Band of Lake Superior Ojibwe reservation; no online option is available at this time.
Eligibility Criteria
• 18 years or older• Pass a youth-sensitive background check• Intend to teach the Ojibwe language and culture• Willing to participate in cultural activities• Available Monday–Friday, 8:00 am–4:00 pm• Available to participate in seasonal outdoor activities• 86% mandatory attendance

Please do not mail applications. No late applications will be accepted. Select applicants will be contacted via email/phone within two weeks of the application deadline.
